SUMMARY
The area of ancient Korsiae (modern village of Prodromos or Chostia) is a small plain in south-western Boeotia surrounded by Mt Helicon: to the north rises Mt Palaiovouna (height: 1,748m); to the west the hill ‘Rache Mada’ (height: 671m); and to the east the hillock ‘Malia Sega’ (height: 424m). The modern village Domvraina lies to the east, which is identified with ancient Thisbe. These low-lying mountains climb down to a small beach in the Corinthian Gulf, called Saranti; nowadays it is a popular tourist resort for Boeotians.
