46 AD: Birth of Plutarch at Chaeronea, Beotia
67 AD: Plutarch moves to Athens to study at the Platonic Academy
c.70-90 AD: Plutarch travels extensively and spends time in Rome. Acquires Roman citizenship and enjoys the protection of L.Mestrius Florus.
90 AD: Plutarch settles down in Chaeronea and becomes mayor of the city.
ca117 AD : Plutarch is priest in Delphi; it is unknown when he assumed this position, he must have held it, however, possibly earlier and until the end of his life, for more than 20 years in total.
ca125-127 AD: Plutarch is dead.
