ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ
In this entry we will examine the history and the mode of settlement of the Arvanites in Boeotia in the end of the Byzantine Period. The language of the Arvanites will be discussed and its relation with Albanian will be examined. The subject of the agrarian and stock breeding economy of the Arvanites is analysed, especially its transitional form. Aspects of family, kinship and marriage strategies and provisions will be described in detail. Finally, we will examine the ideology and mentality of the Arvanites, in terms of self-reference. |
